French Provincial furniture meets Shabby Chic

Shabby Chic furniture and the interior style that comes with it, can lend a cottage style character to your home, but one that is softer and more opulent than your average country style furniture or farmhouse decor. Shabby Chic furniture is known for its washed or distressed finishes in soft neutral colours such as beige and white which make it perfect for fitting in with various other styles of decorating such as country style, Hamptons and French Provincial furniture.

French Country & French Provincial Furniture

French Provincial Furniture is a style of furnishing and decoration that originated in the 18th century in the provinces of France but took it's cues from styles popular in Paris at that time - the difference being that French Provincial furniture was less ornate and a little more 'country' in appearcance than it Parisian counterparts, being more commonly identified as more simply carved wood furniture, often with decorative curved moldings. East Connection has reimagined the French Provincial style adding a whitewashed tones and in some cases sandblasted finishes for a modern update.

Shabby chic style

East Connection’s shabby chic furniture comes in various finishes to suit a wide variety of homes and interior themes. Some of our items are characterised by a washed finish and hand carving whilst other pieces have a distressed or sandblasted finish giving the piece an aged look but featuring the floral motifs and turned legs that are distinctive elements of the shabby chic style and help to differentiate it from other antique or vintage furniture and decorating styles.
